Ampritrite of the Sea

This is an image that kinda just happened. The original plan was to create a photocomp of photos that I took at the beach the other day. The goal was to create a Queen decorated in sea life, but I decided that the photo-comp wasn't going anywhere, so I decided to do a paint-over on the entire image. I stuck with the Sea theme and did a paint-over aimed at a recreation of the Goddess of the Sea, Neptunes wife Ampritrite. I liked the new direction and finished it out as it appears now. It was only a one day project, so I may go back and make some changes at some point. Any crits would be appreciated for a reworking.
cheers.
Edit: I changed this one up a bit. Added a lot more depth and rendered out a prettier face.

This is a piece that I created, expressing the death of the rave scene in the US. Every since the late 90's, rave parties have all but dissapeared. I used to be pretty heavy into the scene. The Capital Ballroom in D.C.'s southwest district used to be home to a number of different venues which I used to make it out to at least once a week. A decade later, I am not the crazy partier that I used to be and this piece symbolizes for me the end of the scene as well as my own departing from the lifestyle.
Hope you like, cheers. Bif

Machinate Evolutionis

Hey guys,
Mechinate Evolutionis-
3000 AD - Long after humans left Earth, our machines continued to thrive. Now, nearly every planet within the Milky Way is covered with anti-bio matter. "Earth", along with Mars and Jupiter, now resemble a world more like its own prehistoric age. The gaseous atmosphere, poisoned by our forefathers had no effect on the inorganic beings, and now their evolution has mimicked our own. Like any self-functioning being, the thirst for energy and resources is constantly bringing change. The machines began to expand their individual territories and reproduce, every version more capable than its predecessor. Cold creatures that have taken on the characteristics of the most successful lifeforms ever to roam the planet, now forge and hunt within the wiry vines of the Binary Forests. Mechanical root systems and towering satellite receptors bend, twist and fight for energy as foliage once did on the hot, wet planet we have long since abandoned. These worlds are no longer our own. All we can do is hope that there is a limit to their expansion, and that we can stay one planet ahead of them as they continue to dominate the universe.

This is a concept based off of a thesis that I read online. The idea that machines are evolving and will continue to do so, someday without the help of mankind. Movies like Terminator and The Matrix delve into this concept as well, but I wanted to do something a little bit different. I was a fan of, and inspired by the Beast Wars and Machine Wars series as well. I thought this would be a good way to show homage and dive into a new twist at the same time.
updated 3.8.08
I added a little more atmosphere and depth as well as increasing the beams of light.

Now, in America, they once again find themselves on the run. Clover just wanted one diamond, but Irish had already begun cutting the green. Now, he is looking forward to a different kind of ball and chain.

"Being a criminal just isn't as much fun as it used to be!"

Edit:made a few changes

I had some extra time after work to get this done. Worked on it for about eight nights and a weekend. I was really having fun trying out some new and old photoshop techniques. I ended up spending a lot more time on it than probably would have been necessary, but I learned what not to do in a few areas of my work flow.

Last year I worked with Evil Eye Pictures to produce a commercial for a Mervyns California Thanksgiving Sale. My end of the project entailed modeling, texturing, and rigging the bust of a rooster for digital replacement of a live roosters head. I was given reference, shown below, of the real rooster, which was previously filmed on the commercial set. I handed the assets off to Evil Eye for animation and comping and the commercial aired less than a week later. This project had an extremely short deadline, just under two weeks, but ended up being a fun project anyway, with only a couple stressful days right before delivery. I never saw the commercial when it aired and just recently got a copy of the final version. Afterwards, I did a few of my own renders and designs.

Immortal Throne Heroine- Titan Quest

Hello all. This is a character that I modeled for Iron Lore...about, a year ago. Originally, I did the modeling and a little texturing. Jessica Hook was the lead texture artist on this character, and Sergio Sykes, our trusty tech, rigged her up. We ended up needing to cut the deadline short a few days at the request of Iron Lore. This hurt Jess's schedule the most but she still managed to pull off a beautiful Hr full body nude texture of the character and our Shanghai Team created a color and spec pass for the armor. We then passed the assets over to Iron Lore, who is responsible for the original renders for their promotional adds.
Many months later, three weeks ago, our project manager Davey Lei, discovered the Titan Quest: Immortal Throne Official Game Site was online.
http://titanquestgame.com/
The game was released on the 6th of this month.
The folks at Iron Lore kindly sent us the original poster size renders for our own promotional use. I did a paint-over of the character and added some background images from her armor design (and a screen shot from the game/photo comp for the waterfall image) for some of her more attractive poses and renders.
Anyway, this was a really fun project to be a part of and I am looking forward to checking out the game. Hope you enjoy!
A few more pics with slightly different looks and styles. Follow the link below the pic for a hr image.
This next pic was put together by the Iron Lore team. It is the box cover for Immortal Throne, I believe. I thought they did a good job of exposing all of the characters T and Assets in this one. Sorry, about that one, that was just bad. Seriously though, I think it came out pretty cool.
